So here are the things I do post Ubuntu 10.04 install

1. Install Nvidia drivers via  “System > Administration > Hardware Drivers”
2. Setup twinview
3. Create new gnome panels and set them to be used on different screens (or via gconf key /apps/panel/toplevels/panel_2/monitor = 1)
4. Move the window boarder buttons back  (/apps/metacity/general/button_layout  = :minimize,maximise,close)
5. Switched auto raise and sloppy focus on (/apps/metacity/general/auto_raise_delay = 600 , /apps/metacity/general/auto_raise = true, /apps/metacity/general/focus_mode = sloppy)
6. Install Adobe Flash (select APT for Ubuntu 9.04+)
7. Reduce all the font sizes to 9
8. Disable “Visual Effects” and enable Metacity compositor (/apps/metacity/general/compositing_manager = true)
9. Enable Auto scrolling (mouse middle click)  and smooth scrolling in Firefox
10. Installed VLC, EasyTag, GIMP, Inkscape, Bluefish, gpass, build-essential
11. Install DVD decryption support, sudo sh /usr/share/doc/libdvdread4/install-css.sh
