USB google badge (hack?)
Monday, October 29th, 2007Got one of these google badges free from Linux world expo 2005, sadly the batteries have died. Don’t worry everyone, no need to be sad or send me flowers because..
…I’ve soldered it onto a usb plug !
The two outer pins on the usb connector are positive and negative for the 5 volt line. This can be connected directly to the badge because the battery normally supplies ~6. volts. I’ve bunged it into a broken usb flash memory stick case. (note: don’t ever buy from getflashing.com again)
